My chickens aren't enjoying the rain very much but the pigs love it!! One of the reasons I decided to raise pigs is because they do well in the cold winter months and in the sloppy wet spring.
The plan was to grow pork during the winter months. Since there aren't too many other things that can grow during the winter I figured it would be a good time to grow out some pigs. Plus I feel like I would have too much going on during the spring and summer months with my Market Garden.
They should be ready for processing in the beginning of April. Which works out pretty well. I can take the time I was concentrating on the pigs and turn it towards growing fruits and vegetables for my roadside stand and CSA.
